Auditions
Auditions will be held late January/early February 2025 in London, Birmingham, Wales and Manchester (and Scotland if enough applications are received).
We will only accept video submissions from overseas applicants.
Dates of auditions will be published in November 2024
Audition requirements
Orchestral excerpts will be distributed to all candidates in December.
In addition to excerpts, candidates are asked to bring a performance piece from the list below which we prefer to hear played unaccompanied. In all cases, the cadenza is appreciated, but not mandatory.
Violin - First movement from any Mozart Violin Concerto.
Viola - Any suitable concerto movement or solo piece
Cello - Any suitable concerto movement or solo piece
Double Bass - Any suitable concerto movement or solo piece
Flute - First movement from any Mozart Flute Concerto
Oboe - First movement from the Mozart Oboe Concerto
Clarinet - First movement from the Mozart Clarinet Concerto
Bassoon - First movement from the Mozart Bassoon Concerto
Horn - First movement from any Mozart Horn Concerto
Trumpet - Any suitable concerto movement or solo piece
Trombone - Any suitable concerto movement or solo piece
Availability
Candidates should be available from 18th - 24th May 2025 to spend the full week in Chipping Campden. Bed and Breakfast with local hosts is included and we provide supper on the concert days.
Successful candidates will be notified by the beginning of March 2025.
We offer a bursary of £450 to each successful candidate for the week.
We aim to notify unsuccessful candidates by the end of March 2025. Feedback on auditions will be available on request.
