Alfred Brendel has devoted much of his retirement to coaching string quartets across Europe, so when we asked him to recommend a quartet to introduce to the Chipping Campden audience he did not hesitate in suggesting the Leonkoro.

As 2022 Wigmore Hall and Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition winners and current BBC New Generation Artists, the Leonkoro are in demand across the globe.

We are very excited at their choice of programme, balancing Haydn and Mendelssohn with Alban Berg's most popular work - his highly original, dramatic and programmatic Lyric Suite. Expect fireworks!
